ATM stolen from Frazee Family Foods


The bottom part of both glass entryway doors at Frazee Family Foods were broken during a robbery Wednesday, Aug. 30.
A smash and grab robbery occured at Frazee Family Foods around 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30. The thieves made off with an ATM machine, which was bolted down in the entryway of the store.

Vergas business owner spots stolen truck, helps return it home


Michaela and Brett Glawe of Perham recently used social media to help locate a stolen truck.

A red Ford F250 belonging to Brett Glawe was stolen Tuesday Aug. 22 and found the next day by the owner of Franklin Fence.
Social media and newly-installed surveillance cameras in Vergas played a role in returning a stolen truck to its rightful owners.

Emiliy Jones is the new clerk’s assistant in Vergas. Her hobbies include attending rodeos, refurbishing furniture with a western chic motif and snowboarding.
Emiliy Jones joined the Vergas city crew as an administrative assistant just before Looney Daze and is enjoying the variety the job offers.

Vergas inspires mystery novels


The city of Vergas has inspired four mystery novels from the extended family, including (from left) Lexi Grotte, Oliva Stoa, Judi Stoa and Abby Stoa.
Vergas is again the topic of a mystery novel. “The Curse of the Vergas Loony Days Talent Show” is a young adult novel based in the busy little town, and the author’s inspiration comes from personal experience.
