Wallace family to be awarded Century Farm status

Lions fund shelter at Vergas zoo


The Vergas Lions hosted its monthly meeting at the new shelter at Trowbridge Creek Zoo in rural Vergas. The event also featured a dedication as the group funded the shelter project. The Vergas Lions dedicated a shelter at Trowbridge Creek Zoo Tuesday, July 11.  The zoo, four miles northwest on Otter Tail County Highway 17, now offers visitors a picnic area near the bird enclosure and playground.

School Board ends business office contract with Lakes Country

For the past several years the Frazee-Vergas School District has contracted with Lakes Country Service Cooperative for business office personnel. During the monthly meeting Monday, July 10, the board ended its contract.
