No sign of frostbite on Frazee’s southern fruit-bearing trees

Rural Frazee’s homegrown apricots, peaches, kiwis and other fruits often reserved for the southern states appear to have weathered the harsh winter and deep ground frost.

CodeRED replaces Instant Alert in Becker County, sign-up required

Frazee residents will no longer get instant alerts from the city. 
 
City Administrator Jon Smith reported the city had no choice in ending its instant alert services.

VFW seeking donations


Please help “Save Our Post” (SOP) so veterans can continue to serve according to the charter. Frazee VFW Post 7702 held an appreciation night for law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, military and all service workers March 22, along with a Save Our Post party. Members of VFW and AmVets volunteered to serve up drink specials for service workers throughout the day and evening including (from left) Dave Jopp, National Guard; Darby Nundahl, U.S. Marine Corps; Andy Belflower, National Guard; Jimmy Johnson, U.S. Army; Andy Riewer, National Guard; Tony Christensen, former Marine, National Guard; and Clint Johnson, National Guard. The night was a huge success. Children of all ages hit the dance floor and sang karaoke while Jammin’ with Jinny DJ Service provided music and entertainment. The members of the VFW would like to remind the public that everyone is welcome at the VFW as a guest; patrons do not have to be a member to visit so come on in. Photo by Cally Nundahl
A good number of members, both young and old, attended the Thursday, March 20 meeting of VFW Post 7702.

Silver Leaf gets sole write-in vote for township elections

Several area townships held elections for supervisor and clerk positions Tuesday, March 11. 
 
All townships had incumbents file for the open positions, but one (and only one) township had a write-in vote.
