Dance takes part in weekend scrimmage

The Frazee High School dance team took part in a scrimmage Saturday in Sartell. The Fly Girls really stepped it up, coach Ta Fett said. This was made even more impressive because they took to the dance floor two weeks ear-lier than normal. Fett be-gan the team 23 years ago as a noncompetitive sport, taking it to the competitive level 13 years ago. The team is returning 21 letter-winners. The Fly Girls won the state title in High Kick and Jazz last year and have won the Heart of the Lakes Conference for the past three years.

Larsen at his best for state cc

Standout Frazee High School cross country runner Grady Larsen, pictured, adjusted his training methods over the summer and into the fall competition. The effort netted the junior a place in the Minnesota State High School League 1A state race, in which he turned in his second-best time ever in the 5K. Despite the seeming individualism of cross country running, Larsen said he would easily dull his competitive edge if not for his teammates.

Ten seconds.
