The goodwill of the Christmas holiday will be in full force Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Vergas Event Center. A Christmas concert will be held, along with a bake sale, from 2-4 p.m. with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.
Performing will be Dr. Randel Stolee, the Hornet Singers and Band of Faith.
Event organizer Bev Flateland said each musical group will perform 15-20 minute sets.
“Dr. Stolee (of Perham Health) will be playing the piano and the Hornet Singers are a group from Frazee High School,” Flateland said. “Band of Faith is an instrumental group out of Pelican Rapids.”
Refreshments will be served and luminaries will be available for purchase and to decorate.
Tickets can be bought at the door for $10 per person or $25 per family.
“We will also be holding a bake sale,” Flateland said, adding a raffle for a crocheted snowman family and queen-sized quilt will also be held.
“The raffle tickets will be $1, and while you don’t need to be present to win, the first name drawn will get to pick which prize they want,” Flateland said.
The concert will be held the day following the annual Santa Days party, where St. Nick stops for a visit and picture with area children.
Last year the Vergas Looney’s Relay for Life team raised about $6,800 for the organization that funds cancer research through the American Cancer Society, and this year the crew has the goal set at $7,500.
“In East Otter Tail there are 24 registered teams, and last year they raised $145,338,” she said.
