EOT County Fair set July 25-28 in Perham

The East Otter Tail County Fair celebrates over a century of bringing food, exhibits, music, games and fun and will do it again Thursday through Sunday, July 25-28 at the Perham Fairgrounds.
The celebration will kick off Thursday, July 25 with many 4-H events going on throughout the day including a rabbit show at 9 a.m., poultry show at 1:30, dairy goat show at 4:30, and the 4-H and FFA sheep show will begin at 6:30.
Thursday is Military/Veterans Day at the fair with a flag raising by the East Otter Tail Color Guard, area VFW members, and local Boy Scouts at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited to join in singing the National Anthem at 11:15.
Thursday is also wristband night so bring the kids for unlimited fun on the rides from 6-10 p.m. only. Wristbands are $15 in advance or $18 at the fair.
The highlight of the evening will be a special live show from Willie and the Poor Boys from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. by the beer garden. Tickets are $10. There will also be a bean bag tournament, beer pong and silly Olympics.
Everyday events will continue throughout the fair including the exhibit building open from 11 a.m. till 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The children's petting barn will be open every day from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. except the last day it will close at 7.
The carnival will open Thursday at 5 p.m. till close, Friday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to close and Saturday the carnival opens at noon. Preseason tickets are on sale at local businesses until noon Thursday; 10 tickets for $15 and during the fair the price is 20 tickets for $35 or one ticket for $2.

Friday, July 26 is Senior Citizen's Day with events for seniors starting at 1 p.m. in the park. Bingo will be held from 2-4 p.m. and again from 7-11 p.m. Come and enjoy square dancing, Mexican cooking and food tasting, and so much more.
Friday at 5 p.m. the tractor pull for antique tractors will be held. At 7 p.m. the modified tractor pull will be underway. Pay one price to see both. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12 and 5 and under are free.
Music with Los Diamantes, a six-piece Mexican Conjunto Band, will start at 7:30 p.m. in the park. From 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. listen to Willie and the Poor Boys at the beer garden.
Saturday, July 27 is Children's Day at the Fair. Various 4-H events will be going on all day. There will be a state sanctioned kids pedal tractor pull starting at 5 p.m. 
Starting at 7 p.m. there will be smashing and crashing entertainment at the demolition derby. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12 and 5-year-olds and younger get in free.
A duo from Duluth, the Brothers Burn Mountain, will entertain visitors from 7:30-8:30 p.m. for free at the stage in the park. From 8:30-12:30 dance to or sit and enjoy the Electric Feel Band at the beer garden.
Sunday, July 28 starts with a horse show for training at the horse arena at 8 a.m. with horse games to follow.
Worship service with the Northwoods Harvest Barn Cowboy Church will take place at 10 a.m. in the park.
At noon there will be an amateur talent competition at the stage in the park with a winner in each division eligible for State Fair competition. Pre-registration is required by 11:30 at the fair office.
At 2 p.m. there will be an All-American Lumberjack Show and again at 4 p.m. Also at 2 p.m. everyone is invited to play bingo until 5.
