EOT Horticulture Day set March 15

Garden  enthusiasts of all kinds will come together Saturday, March 15 for the 27th annual East Otter Tail Horticulture Day from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Prairie Wind Middle School in Perham.
Meleah Maynard, the Everyday Gardener, will kick off the event with tips and tricks to “Decode Garden Advice,” based upon Maynard’s book, “Decoding Gardening Advice: The Science Behind the 100 Most Common Recommendations.”
Attendees can then choose four additional classes to attend throughout the day, taught by Master Gardeners, horticulturists and other experts. Participants will have a wonderful selection of classes, including: Bird Feeding, Frugal Gardening, Attracting Wildlife While Maintaining Your Garden, Tomatoes, Perennials and Annuals, Growing Vegetables, Straw Bale Gardening and Adding Whimsy to Your Garden.
The cost is $25 per person which includes the keynote speaker and four classroom sessions plus handouts, lunch, vendor shopping, coffee and refreshments. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the keynote speaker at 9. Classes start at 10:30 and conclude at 4 p.m. No pre-registration is required. Door prizes will be awarded at noon.
Horticulture Day is sponsored and hosted by the East Otter Tail County Master Gardeners, Lady Slipper Garden Club and the University of Minnesota Extension Office.
