The Vergas Looneys Relay for Life team, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, invites everyone to “Stop and Smell the Posies” at a garden tour of six Vergas area gardens Saturday, July 8 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
There is a $10 admission at the first garden visited. Visitors will receive a card to show at all gardens as proof of payment.
Gardens on the tour will belong to Bev & Myles Flateland, Forest Edge Gallery, Darlene & Terry Paulson, Gloria & Dick Nord, Pam & Tim Lanz, and Donna & Leon Kohler. The entire route is about 20 miles.
At the gardens expect to see perennials, annuals, vegetables, fruits, sculptures, water features, restored prairie and a rain garden. There will be a plant sale at the Flatelands including potted succulents, perennials & annuals. At the Nords buy raffle tickets for a handmade, decorated birdhouse. Maps of the tour will be available at Vergas State Bank, Vergas Municipal Liquor Store entryway, Serendipity and Crossroads Garden Center.
