Mother’s Day event set in Frazee May 11
Mother’s Day is approaching and the ladies of Bethlehem Lutheran Church encourage mothers and daughters to grab a favorite hat and enjoy the salad luncheon Saturday, May 11 at noon.
Hats Off to Moms offers entertaining skits, door prizes, a historical hat display, a delicious spring salad and dessert, and a relaxing afternoon of mingling for $8.
Event organizer Joan Ketter emphasized all ladies are invited, and they can come with a mother, sister, girlfriend, niece, by themselves or with a neighbor.
“If a neighbor girl wants to go and her mom is working, bring her,” Ketter suggested. “It’s meant to be a fun get-together for women, and it’s open to everyone. You don’t have to be from Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Frazee to be welcomed.”
The inspiration for the fun event was sparked when Ketter attended a church convention. She noted a few Detroit Lakes ladies put on hat-related skits that were entertaining, funny and fashionable.
“The skit really motivated me,” Ketter said, noting she found various table decorations to go with the hat theme.
As word spread about the event, Ketter noted several community members have shown off their hat collections, and one is so eager to wear her red dandy that she is even on the search for an outfit to match it.
“It’ll be a lot of fun,” Ketter said. “And ladies can wear any type of hat, antique or Vikings cap. Of course people can come without one, too.”
The average table for the event fits eight people, but a few tables can be pulled together if a large group is interested in sitting together.
Advance ticket sales are preferred and tickets can be purchased from Bethlehem Lutheran Church members, at the church office or from Patti Trautman at United Community Bank.
