Snellman Days this weekend

Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate Snellman Days Saturday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept. 1.
Saturday’s events begin with brunch from 8-11 a.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. From 9 a.m.-12 p.m. enjoy the antique car show at Gethsemane Church.
Other Saturday events include bingo at 10 a.m. with 100 percent payback, with a twist. The person to the left of the bingo winner will also receive a prize. Karaoke will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for those who love to sing.
Bring the children for a horseshoe toss, coloring contest and plenty of activities and games to keep the little ones busy. Take a chance to be the Snellman mayor for a year. All ages are welcome to apply, with an entry fee of just $1. The drawing will take place at noon.
Come hungry for a hot dog eating contest at 2 p.m. Plenty of other food will be available including brats, hot turkey sandwiches, corn roast, fry bread, ice cream, pop and coffee.
Saturday and Sunday there will be a flea market and rummage sales, bakery stands and fresh produce for sale.
Snellman is located on State Hwy. 24 which is 20 miles east of Detroit Lakes or 18 miles west of Park Rapids. Info for flea market/produce space: 218-573-2520 or 841-4727.
