An accident occurred between two vehicles traveling southbound through Ogema Wednesday, Oct. 4.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jeffrey Thomas Kersting, 28, of Mahnomen and a 2015 GMC Sierra, driven by Renee Diane Peterson, 62, of Ogema were both traveling southbound on Highway 59. 

The vehicles collided near the intersection of southbound Highway 59 and 360th Street on the southern edge of Ogema city limits.

Peterson suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health Saint Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for treatment.

Kersting was not injured; both parties were wearing seatbelts and the crash did not deploy airbags in either vehicle. The accident occurred on dry pavement and alcohol was not a factor.

Essentia Health Saint Mary’s EMS assisted at the scene.
