Bethlehem Lutheran sends mission group to Guatemala

Women from Bethlehem Lutheran recently traveled to Guatemala on a mission, working with poor residents do not have adequate nutrition and need better housing. Local persons who are pictued above as ingredients were prepared for for stew included, from left: Katelynn Weets, Sharon Mueller, a Guatamalan, Lynn Weets, Eileen Klug, a visitor from New York, Barb Olson, and Renee Larson, who was cutting carrots. The Frazee contingent also washed corn husks to make tamales and prepared cabbage and potatoes to go with the carrots. Among many other tasks, they also planted 4,500 broccoli plants.
A church mission has goals before a trip is made but afterward responses are likely to indicate that unexpected – and wonderful — things occurred.
