DNR to build 30-foot long dam between Shell Lake and river outlet


The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources built a rock dam in Round Lake in Becker County recently. A similar dam modification will be created at Shell Lake.
A rock dam is set to be built next spring on Shell Lake that aims to improve the survival of fish populations as well as retain the current water levels of the lake.

Rural Frazee road to be moved away from lake, work to begin in October


After heavy rainfall Wednesday, Sept. 7 water from Fischer Lake was making its way onto Becker County Highway 118. The road is slated to be moved this fall.
This week, drivers along Becker County Highway 118 may notice the clearing of brush and trees along the road. The work is preparation for improving the half-mile road that extends from Frazee city limits to the Otter Tail County line.
