Several months of minimalist living helps former Osage man focus on present tense


Jon Carter hikes for 3½ hours on skis that have grips on the bottom to the top of Pfiefferhorn Mountain for an hour-long ski down before heading to work. After moving to Utah from Frazee, Carter has lived a minimalist lifestyle.
Jon Carter decided he no longer wanted an apartment or house or the debt and objects that fill them.  So he rid himself of needless items and moved into a cargo trailer.

Vergas Planning Commission works through questions on gravel ordinance


The Vergas Planning Commission is working on an gravel pit ordinance. Currently the city has one gravel pit in city limits. It is located on East Looney Lane, which is also Otter Tail County Highway 35.
The Vergas Planning Commission continued forging ahead with a gravel pit ordinance at its monthly meeting Wednesday, July 27 in the council chambers at the Vergas Event Center.

Diane Schumacher revealed Roger Boe as the mystery gobbler Saturday.
The Mystery Gobbler for the 62nd annual Turkey Days – Roger Boe, was discovered after the second clue was read at the Junior Royalty King & Queen contest Saturday morning.
