Hornets Hoops for Hope raises money for Relay for Life

Frazee sixth grader Sophie Strand enlisted the help of the boys basketball team on Thursday night to read some statistics about cancer during the first-ever Hornets Hoop for Hope event. As part of the fundraiser, a silent auction was set up in the hallway, T-shirts and bracelets were sold during the game and a fill-the-bucket challenge took place during halftime in which fans had 76 seconds to fill the bucket. The time was chosen as someone is diagnosed with cancer every 76 seconds. Proceeds from the event were raised to benefit the American Cancer Society’s the Relay for Life. Pictured with Strand are basketball players Jack Courneya and Broden Fleisher.
