Scheels fishing pro Tony Mariotti claps as Adam Walker receives his Hometown Hero award.

Frazee resident Adam Walker was recognized as a Hometown Hero by Scheels.

On Jan. 15, Walker was brought into a room with fellow soldiers where a cameraman and Scheels fishing pro Tony Mariotti greeted him.

Walker is currently an enlisted Army soldier with a  deployment to Bosnia, Afghanistan and set to deploy this March to Kuwait. He is also a volunteer firefighter for the city of Frazee, father and husband.

When Mariotti asked Walker if he suspected anything was being planned in his honor, Walker said he thought there was a major present.

After a few laughs and claps of appreciation, Mariotti and Walker went ice fishing for the afternoon.
