The Frazee High School dance team held its annual banquet on Tuesday, April 13. The team members were recognized for personal achievements.

Those earning the Heart of The Lakes All Conference title were: Braylee Riewer, McKenzie Wake, Alexa Osterman and Hailey Selly.

Those earning the Heart of The Lakes Honorable Mention title were Marcella George and Madeline Matejka.

Leadership awards were presented to Riewer and Wake.

The Minnesota State High School League title of Spotlight on Scholarship (GPA 3.0 or better during the season) went to Riewer, Wake, Osterman, Selly, George Matejka, Alexis Heaton, Grace Doll and Zoey Rousu.

Individual Awards were presented to Wake for Choreographer of The Year; Selly for Paramount Pacesetter; Osterman for Best All-Round Dancer; Rouso for Rookie of The Year; Heaton for Best Positive Attitude; Doll for the Rising Star Award; Brea Paurus for Most Improved; Kylie Totland earned the Most Loyal Award; Matejka collected the Top Technical Excellence award; Ideal Role Model went to George; Stand Out Performer to Riewer and  MSHSL Most Valuable Teammate went to Selly.

Season team highlights included earning the Heart of The Lake Conference Championship; Section 4A Jazz Champions and Class A State 5th place Jazz.

Head coach Katrina Courneya thanked her team for providing her with an “unforgettable” season.

“The leadership, teamwork, determination, dedication, commitment and friendship I witnessed this season is the reason why I coach,” she said.
