Notes from the Chief

Friday, June 25

10:57 a.m. Report of several people fighting on E Main Ave. Reports sent to city attorney for a review of possible charges.

3:57 p.m. Vehicle unlock at the golf course.

7:09 p.m. Report of a female standing on the overpass looking distraught.  Female said she was fine and was out for a walk and watching the sunset.

7:31 p.m. Complaint of a go kart on W Maple Ave.  Officer talked with owner of the go kart.

7:36 p.m. Report of threats being made between residents at Rivercrest. Issues stemming from incident that happened earlier in the day.

9:41 p.m. Assist with a pursuit on St Hwy 34.

1:04 a.m. Report of a possible suicidal teen in town.  Officer visited with teenager and mom. Teenage male was grounded from his phone and told someone he was “done.” This was interpreted to maybe mean he was thinking of self-harm.  No intention of wanting to harm himself.  

Saturday, June 26

7:13 p.m. Officer found a couple dirt bikes and kids in the sewer ponds. Officer advised they were trespassing and they left.

7:34 p.m. Female resident called asking about moving out of boyfriend’s house.

8:06 p.m. Same female having issues with boyfriend as he was trying to change the locks. Officer told parties that they both lived at the house and each had equal access to the property.  Officer told them that the female could have her friends help her move as this was her residence also.

Sunday, June 27

3:12 p.m. Report of a motorcycle tipped over on S. River Drive. Good Samaritans helped get the bike up and helped the rider get the bike to a friend’s house.

5:27 p.m. Report of a van in the swamp by the railroad bridge. Driver reached down for a cigarette and drove off the curve into the toolies.  Vehicle was pulled out of the swamp by a tow truck.

10:27 p.m. Resident complaining that a neighbor took can of beer. Female told officer that he gave her the beer. Female was told she was not welcome back at the neighbors.

2:42 a.m. Female calling in that someone had pounded on her door waking her up. Officer and deputy did not find anyone in the area.  Probably was the neighbor wanting his beer back.

Monday, June 28

9:13 a.m. Traffic stop with citation for Driving After Suspension issued to Amy Leebus, 34, Frazee.

2:18 p.m. Complaint of dog being outside without being attended too. Complainant gave the dog some water then the dog owner accused that person of trying to poison his dog. 

9:50 p.m. Male reporting being threatened by another male over a mutual girlfriend they had. Male was given information on a restraining order.

11:04 p.m. Report of a theft from the gas station that happened a couple days ago. Juvenile male stole a phone charger. Under investigation.  

Tuesday, June 29

2:17 p.m. Report of someone dumping fish guts by the RR tracks on W Juniper.  No suspects, but the area smells very much bad.  

6:39 p.m. Complaint from a repo man that he had a vehicle lifted but not strapped down yet. Female owner wanted to get some items from the car and she drove the car off from the tow truck and left.  And here I thought you only saw those things on T.V.

9:30 p.m. Officer found a RR tie that was a bit out of place, possibly due to the recent rains. Officer called BNSF.

12:28 a.m. Stray dog on W Maple.  Pit mix taken to Lucky Dog. Camo collar, no tags.

Wednesday, June 30

9:39 a.m. Report that porta potty’s were tipped over at the school ball fields.  Unknown if any school board members were inside.  

11:43 a.m. Report of possible identity theft.

1 p.m. Complaint of a hide-a-way bed/couch leaning against a building on E Main Ave. Landlord made aware of the complaint.

2:06 p.m. Report of someone dumping garbage in a business’ dumpster in town.  Under investigation.

2:16 p.m. Report of a possible court order violation.  Under investigation.

2:51 p.m. Report of suspicious activity at a trailer park. Issue turned out to be more drama than a Jerry Springer re-run.

7:32 p.m. Assist with a medical. Also got the dryer vent hooked up properly for the residents.

8:20 p.m. Assist DLPD with looking for bad guys from an assault that happened at Roy Lake in Mahnomen County.

12:09 a.m. Assist with a medical.

Thursday, July 1

5:38 p.m. Stray dog in Red Willow. Owner was found on Maple Ave.

11:22 p.m. Report of impaired driver downtown.  Officer and State Trooper were in the immediate area and did not locate.

1 a.m. Assist Otter Tail County and State Patrol with a suicidal male walking on U.S. 10.
