After the tragic passing of April Stenger, 26, daughter of Tim and Sue Stenger, those who loved her most ensured her spirit will continue to be a magnet for children by installing a playground in her honor at the Early Explorers Daycare Center in Moorhead where she worked. April was a 2007 Frazee graduate who earned an Early Childhood Education degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. With the help of donations the new playground dubbed “Sunshine Playground” was installed. In addition to the equipment at the daycare, donations also went toward purchasing playground equipment for the Hawley Public School, where April’s sister Tami has children enrolled.
Four candidates for the Frazee High School Principal position were interviewed Friday, July 15 by administration and board members of the school district. They are Paul Keidel, Anna Potvin, Megan Myers and Eric Martinez.
There is an excessive heat watch today with temperatures reaching over 90 degrees. Because of the recent rains totaling over 10 inches this past week people are taking advantage of the hot weather by kayaking and canoeing.

Missy Hintermeister claimed the title of Miss Frazee 1996. She is the daughter of John and Shirley Hintermeister of Frazee and a 1996 Frazee graduate. Missy plans to attend Concordia College in Moorhead majoring in art and music. She played a piano piece for the talent portion of the pageant, which she won.
The Morningside Motel, Frazee, has changed hands. Terry L. and Robin Harrison of Great Falls, Mont., have purchased the motel July 8 from Tim and Chris Reisenauer, who returned to Great Falls early this year. Terry and Robin have two children, Justin, 16, and Shannon, 13. The family plans to make their home in Frazee.
A fire at the Milton Beitz’s shed near Eagle Lake almost claimed the Frazee Area Community Club’s billboard sign that was set to put up on Friday in time for the annual Turkey Days celebration. The firemen saved the five-foot turkey legs and other parts of the sign and even though the shed did not burn to the ground there was substantial damage to the shed.

The Frazee Fire Department was called to the Peter Matson home in McHugh Township five miles east of Frazee about 6:30 p.m., Saturday. Lightening had struck the home and set fire to a box of clothing and burned a hole in the wall. The fire was out before the firemen arrived on the scene.
A 16-year old Frazee girl, reported missing since last Wednesday noon, has been found, according to the Becker County sheriff’s office. Patti Erickson, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Erickson left her home Wednesday and was located Sunday at the Detroit Lakes beach area.
Frazee Turkey Days Booster Buttons are now on sale at Frazee business places. These buttons sell for $1.00 each and represent a savings of a $1.00 when used as admission to three events during Turkey Days August 14-15.
