Last week, crews poured the bridge deck at the Otter Tail River, so right now things are a little quieter on the east end of the project while the concrete cures. Next up for the bridge replacement: pouring of the approach panels and railing, installation of guardrail and dirt work near the bridge site.

East of the bridge, culvert work continues between County Road 31 and County Road 33/County Road 115 on Highway 87. Starting Monday, July 19, weather permitting, the roadway will be temporarily impassable just west of County Road 33/County Road 115 for up to one week, as crews replace the second box culvert in this area. Locals will need to use an alternate route around this section of Highway 87. Watch the message boards for any date changes.

After that box culvert is replaced, there are about six more centerline culverts left to do. Since those pipes aren’t as large as the box culvert, a hard closure isn’t needed. Local traffic can expect lane closures in those areas.

At the same time, crews are still hard at work on the shoulder widening. They expect that work to wrap up by the end of August.
