Park Rapids residents take best of show

0The Tyler Shipman Memorial Car Show saw a solid turnout of competitors and visitors during Turkey Days. The car show was held on Saturday, July 24 and the results were as follows:
• Classic Era (1925-1948) was won by Garry and Robin Lawrey of Park Rapids, Minn. They brought in a 936 Ford 68 5 window coupe.
• Muscle (1964-1971) was won by Butch and Darlene Peterson of Detroit Lakes with a 1968 Ford Mustang GT.
• TBI/Front Wheel Drive (1984-1994) was won by Brandon Gildersleeve of Detroit Lakes with his 1987 Olds Cutlass 442.
• Motorcycle category was won by Jerry Vroman of Perham with his 2020 T-Rex by Compagna Motors.
• Foreign car award went to Kathy Carlson of Frazee with her 2020 Mazda Miata.
• Fiero GT award went to Pete Grosz of Stacy, Minn. with his 1986 1/2 Pontiac Fiero GT.
• Fiero Notchback award went to Shannon Fawley of Owtanna, Minn. with a 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula Notchback.
• Fiero Notchback Modified award went to Rod Boyer of Frazee with his 1985 Pontiac Fiero Coupe.
• Most Miles Traveled Award went to Bob Daggett of Florida with his 1970 Ford Mustang.
• Kids Choice award went to Steve Thorton of Elk River with this 1969 Chevy Camaro SS.
• The People’s Choice award went to Bob Daggett of Florida with his 1970 Ford Mustang.
• The Best in Show award went to Gary and Robin Lawrey of Park Rapids, Minn. with their 1936 Ford 68 5 Window Coupe.
