Turkey Days proved to be a lot of fun and Looney Days is a second helping for those in the area.

Throughout the festivities I kept thinking how lucky the community is to have people that organize or host so many fun the events. A big thank you goes out to all those that provide days of fun for residents and guests.

Oftentimes, I’ve thought it would be fun to get involved and help with an event, or offer a new one, such as a chess tournament. However, those will remain thoughts for big time festivals until I retire from my position with the Frazee-Vergas Forum. My festival days are gifted with the task to pictorially cover all the fun and sniff out stories on occasion.  They are also often blessed with impromptu chats with strangers, people I have interviewed in the past and friends.

A round of applause and thanks to this year’s Turkey Days organizers and hosts. Now, my sights are set on Looney Days, and I hope to see you out there. A full list of the fun is on the back page of this issue.

Pictures from events, games, stories can be

purchased online

The newspaper offers  pictures starting at $2.50 for a 3×5 and $5.50 for an 8×10. To view the photos taken on behalf of the newspaper, go to www.frazeeforum.com. Next to the green sign in button are smaller links. Click on the galleries link to view the pictures.

So, if you’ve seen my lens pointed in your direction, you likely are in the galleries. And, there is a good chance you or someone you know is, as I can be quite sneaky when taking pictures with the long lens.

New face at the Forum

Recently Chris Hahn has joined the Frazee-Vergas Forum team. He took on the duties of page design for the Forum, as well as the other Henning Publications papers.

Now that  a new set of eyes and skills is tackling the page design, I have more time for writing. I’m very excited about this as there is no work more enjoyable to me that hearing and crafting a story.  The additional writing time has afforded me the opportunity to write at least one feature a week for the NYM Dispatch.

We are also enjoying featuring at least one article a month on a Perham resident.

If you have an idea for a story (feature or news), or know of a person who has a unique hobby, funny or inspirational story, please do not hesitate to let me know. I can be reached by email news1@loretel.net or by calling the office 334-3566.  If you prefer to remain anonymous with a news tip, you have my word.
