The Vergas City Council held a special meeting on Thursday, July 22 to interview potential law firms to represent the city. Vergas’ longtime attorney, Steve Peloquin, is retiring.

The council put notifications of the opportunity into the newspaper and two qualified candidates put their hats in the ring: Pemberton and Ramstad, Skoyles and Winters.

Two attorneys representing the firms attended the meeting and were separately interviewed with the  same set of questions asked. After both interviews concluded, the council reviewed the answers and after some discussion, noting both were qualified, agreed to go with Ramstad, Skoyles and Winters.
