Desiree Bauer was named Miss Vergas 2016 and Emily Bachmann is the new Princess Altona. The Jr. Royalty crowning was incorporated into the Miss Vergas Pageant and the Jr. King is Colton Nelson, son of Amber & Ryan Nelson, Dilworth and Jr. Miss Vergas is Paige Baumgart, daughter of Mile & Denelle Baumgart, Frazee.
North Dakota State University head wrestling coach Roger Kish announced Frazee native Matt Nagel has joined the Bison staff as an assistant coach. Nagel has spent the past eight years at Concordia College including the last three years as head coach.
The Frazee Fire Department along with red Cross will be installing free smoke alarms for Frazee’s residences Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 6-9 p.m. Red Cross will furnish the smoke alarms while the Frazee Fire Department will install them. Preregistration is required.

Frazee students swept area pageants this past week at the Wolf Lake Harvest Festival, Becker County Fair and Vergas Looney Days. Jessica Nordstrom, 17 and a senior at Frazee High School was crowned Miss Wolf Lake and Skye Eckert, 17, a senior at Frazee High School was first runner-up. Meliss Kroshus, 19, a graduate of Frazee High School was crowned Miss Vergas at the Looney Days celebration with Jamon Trieglaff, 18, a 1996 Frazee graduate as first-runner-up. Jennifer Moore, 18 and a graduate of Frazee High School was crowned Miss Becker County Fair on Wednesday evening.
Just short of a half a year since the bowling lanes burned to the ground, they will open again. Zee Lanes plan to open Tuesday, Sept. 3, with leagues starting Sept. 16.
Residents of the city of Frazee may file for a position on the city council beginning Tuesday, August 27. There will be two four-year positions up during the Nov. 5 election. Those positions are presently held by appointees, Fred Daggett and Jerome Tappe. Daggett says he plans to file while Tappe is not.

Three men, one armed, robbed the Clark Super Station on Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes of an undetermined amount of money early Monday. Station attendant Dave Koski told police three men entered the station via a rear entrance at about 3:30 a.m. and one jammed a revolver into his midsection and said, “We want all the money.” Koski said they threatened to kill him if he reported the holdup so he waited about 15 minutes after they left before calling the police. He said all of the men wore face- masks.
Cheryl Jacobs, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Denton Jacobs of Frazee was crowned Miss Frazee of 1971.
Andy Fett scored a hole in one on the Frazee Golf Course last Thursday afternoon. Fett aced the 160-yard sixth hole using a five iron. Playing with Fett was John Jacoby of Detroit Lakes. Had Fett scored his hole in one during Men’s Club play in the evening he would have won a $25.00 cash prize for his good fortune.
