Notes from the Chief
Friday, Sept 3
9:17 a.m. Assist with a medical.
7:04 p.m. Resident reporting her car alarm went off at 11 p.m. last night. She did not see anyone in the area.
8:41 p.m. Assist with a car vs deer crash on U.S. 10.
1:19 a.m. Suspicious activity reported at a house with people moving stuff out. Former tenant was moving things out of the house.
Saturday, Sept. 4
4:31 p.m. Vehicle unlock.
5:56 p.m. Male reporting that he was double charged at a business. Male came back the next day and got more merchandise.
12:10 a.m. Report of three gunshots in the area on Co Hwy 31. Officer went to the area and did not hear anything out of the ordinary.
12:57 a.m. Noise complaint of loud music and revving engine at residence. Officer could hear motorcycle revving from three blocks away and music from one block away. Officer had to tell the intoxicated parties a few times to quiet down. The music was turned down and sausage party was moved inside.
Sunday, Sept. 5
6:48 p.m. Traffic stop with citation for speed issued to Dennis Greenwood, 43, Frazee.
8:44 p.m. Disturbances reported with female parking on sidewalk upsetting other tenants. Dispute between female and male over child custody.
11:26 p.m. Female reporting being harassed by ex-boyfriend and he is sending threats to her friend. Female said she moved out of her boyfriend’s place in Fargo today with their daughter after being in an abusive relationship. She explained numerous incidents in Fargo that were never reported to law enforcement. Female said she is scared of her ex and needed something done at 11:30 on a Sunday night. Officer explained the HRO/OPF process, but told her the courts would not be open until Tuesday with the holiday weekend. Officer told her to call if he showed up and caused issues. Female was given information for the crisis center. Female’s father was upset that the officer could not put an order for protection in place that night. The threat sent to the female’s friend by the ex was that he would be taking her to court.
2:31 a.m. Suspicious activity reported regarding a pickup near 512 Balsam Ave. Brandon DeGroat, 25, Frazee arrested for DWI.
Monday, Sept. 6
2:52 p.m. Vehicle unlock.
5:21 p.m. Female requesting her meds be picked up and brought to her. Meds were picked up and couriered to Detroit Lakes. Doing things like this so someone doesn’t have to come to town to create drama can help in the long run.
6:31 p.m. Report of a suicidal female sitting on the RR tracks waiting for a train. Female was safe and not on the RR tracks.
7:03 p.m. Caller reporting they got a call from their granddaughter that the mother was intoxicated and fighting with dad. Officer monitored the situation and all was OK.
11:17 p.m. Verbal argument between male and female with both wanting the other to leave. Officer told them that he can’t make them leave because they both live there. Officer told them they have some decisions to make because their relationship is not working out. Both agreed to stay in separate rooms and not bother one another.
11:24 p.m. Assist with a 911 hang-up on Co Hwy 29. Male at the house was tinkering and his phone accidently dialed 911. All OK.
Tuesday, Sept. 7
1:56 p.m. Low wire hanging in yard between high school and elementary. Cable is from Arvig and they will send a crew to fix.
2:22 p.m. Driving complaint/traffic stop on elderly female. Family members came to get car and drive female to her home.
4:41 p.m. Resident reporting a child acting weird in her neighborhood. Officer found where the boy lived and talked with dad, all was OK.
9:26 p.m. Female reporting suspicious activity that her air conditioner was tampered with. Female thinks her ex is harassing her. Officer explained the HRO process.
2:10 a.m. Assist with a medical.
Wednesday, Sept. 8
7:51 a.m. Traffic stop with citation for Driving After Revocation issued to Joel Perala, 60, New York Mills.
12:26 p.m. Assist with a medical.
3:08 p.m. Traffic complaint with male driving with a baby on his lap. Mother given warning of dangers of not using a child safety seat.
4:20 p.m. Report of a loose dog. Officer did not see the dog in the area and owner was out looking for the canine.
Thursday, Sept. 9
1:10 p.m. Assist landlord with talking with tenant to ask for a background check so he could get put on the lease. Tenant was cooperative.
4:18 p.m. Young male reporting being threatened by another young male. Info only for now.
