Riewer leads the girls team to eighth place finish

Nathan Johannsen continued his strong senior season on the course as he finished in fourth place overall at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle cross country meet last Monday afternoon. 

There were 176 competitors on the boys side with Johannsen finishing with a time of 17:37.40. Eighth grader Jonah Sharp was the next Hornet to cross the finish line in 62nd place with a time of 21:01, while Keeping Jayden finished in 69th place with a time of 21:23.20, Cael Pausch finished in 70th place with a time of 21:27.50, Brady Borah finished in 135th place with a time of 24:03.60 and Daniel Winn was the final Hornet to cross the finish line with a time of 31:33.60.

As a team the Hornets finished in 11th place with 278 points. West Central Area won the meet with 36 points. There were 14 teams that finished with a complete team. 

Braylee Riewer led the charge for the girls team as the senior finished in 16th place overall with a time of 23:10.20. Bailey Larsen was right on her tail as the junior took 35th place with a time of 24:29.60. Alexis Mack took 58th place with a time of 26:47, Claire Pausch took 61st place with a time of 27:30.10 and MacKenzie Wake finished in 81st place with a time of 31:48.10.

The girls team took eighth place out of 10 teams and finished with a score of 198 points. West Central Area won the meet with 54 points and the Hornets finished in front of Wheaton High School and host Long Prairie-Grey Eagle. 

This week the Hornets will travel to Bagley for a meet on Tuesday.
