To the Editor,

On a spectacularly lovely Sept. 4th afternoon, 300 residents from across central Minnesota gathered at City Park in Alexandria. The event, a fundraiser for DFL candidates announcing their intention to run for MN state senate seat and MN state house seats, was overwhelmingly well attended.

We would like to acknowledge and thank all who attended as well as Alexandria Parks and Recreation.  Thank you to the mayor of Alexandria, Bobbie Osterberg for opening statements and governor Tim Walz whose enthusiastic support for democratic and compassionate political candidates across this area where a great help in raising the visibility of the fundraiser.  And while the event was briefly interrupted, we would like to thank the Alexandria police department for allowing us to continue. To Ben Schirmers for providing the music, and to Pope Douglas Solid Waste Management Recycling Center for keeping our park clean and Al Parish for supplying all the tables and chairs.

Thank you to the Minnesota DFL staff, DFL Leadership Ken Martin, Dan Wolgamott, assistant Majority Leader District 14B, Kaohly Her, state representative from 64A,  And to all the candidates seeking endorsement: Jeremy Vinar (District 8B), Murray Smart (District 12A) and  Kari A Dori (Senate District 12), thank you for running for State offices.

Thank You,

Michael Windey, Chair

Otter Tail County DFL
