Little Hornets buzz to fire department

Frazee Elementary students visited the Frazee Fire Department on Thursday, Oct. 7. The Vergas Fire Department also brought their engine for the students to view.
In addition to getting an up-close-view of the engines, the students also learned about fire prevention and safety, like the well-known stop-drop-and roll method to keep them safe if on fire.
Colton Sayer gives the firefighter hose a try and feels the power of the water rushing out, with the help of a fireman. Addy Schultz, Brooke Swangler and Analia Luukkonen pet Oakley, a one-year-old dalmatian that belongs to Frazee fire an Micah Gorder and his wife Jill. Kooper Wegner and his classmates held their hands over their ears while a train whistle blew. The son of Kyler and Brittini Wegner was one of many kids that explored the Frazee Fire Hall on Thursday, Oct. 7. Bryce Borough shows Michelle Oswald’s kindergarten class how to stop, drop and roll after crawling from a smoked-filled room. Jill Ollman’s kindergarten class posed for a picture in front of the Frazee fire engine on Thursday, Oct. 7. This class visited the fire hall as part of the prevention week.
The kids also had the opportunity to hold onto a fire hose with the assistance of a firefighter, and try on gear.
