Trees will be removed this week along the State Highway 87 cooridor in Frazee.

Starting this week, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin tree removals in Frazee along State Highway 87.

Motorists, residents and visitors may encounter slow-moving equipment and potential sidewalk, shoulder and lane closures where crews are working.

The work is in preparation for next year’s reconstruction of Highway 87 in Frazee, scheduled to begin May 31, 2022. Crews will be removing trees that will be directly impacted by the future construction.

The 2022 project includes reconstructing the highway from just south of U.S. Highway 10 interchange to North River Drive in Frazee. Crews will also replace underground utilities, sidewalks and build a multi-use trail.
