The Modern Woodmen youth service group recently presented the Frazee Fire Department with a Hometown Hero Award.

The Frazee Fire Department received a Hometown Heroes Award from a local group that focuses on volunteer efforts.

The Modern Woodmen website states the group “exists to improve quality of life for our members and the communities where they live, work and play.”

The support is done through “financial guidance and social, educational and volunteer activities.”

Member Mackenzie Hamm added, “Modern Woodmen’s youngest members take part in nearly 800 youth service clubs, which are led by adult member volunteers” and have monthly activities that emphasize volunteering, patriotism, education and fun.

“Modern Woodmen of America is a member-owned fraternal financial services organization,” she added. “Together with nearly 740,000 members, we’ve been touching lives and securing futures since 1883.”
