The Frazee Hornets fell to Lake Park-Audubon by a score of 52-45 in non-conference action on Friday night. The game was the first of the season for the Hornets, who battled foul trouble in the first half, but nearly pulled off the non-conference win at home.

Head coach Ryan Vigen said two of the biggest differences for the Hornets were the turnover battle, which Frazee lost by a 27-16 margin, as well as at the free throw line. Frazee went just 2-5 from the free throw line, while LPA went 16-28.

The Hornets were led offensively by George Flynn who scored 17 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Nathan Johannsen also reached double figures with 10 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

Also scoring for the Hornets was Kale Ovsak with 6 points and 5 assists, Mark Jaroszewski with 5 points and 8 rebounds, Alex Helmers with 3 points and 3 assists, Zach Longfors with 2 points and Ian Cottrell with 2 points.

The Hornets will look to rebound this week when they host Hawley in their Heart O’ Lakes Conference opener and on Friday when Frazee hosts Pelican Rapids in another HOL match up.
