Sharon Guck and her band of generous hearts have been spreading the Christmas cheer to residents at Frazee Care Center and Frazee Assisted Living.

In addition to every resident receiving a special gift from Mary Kay they also received a hand delivered poinsettia.

Guck said several friends from Sacred Heart Church, the community as well as local businesses donate to the annual gift giving.

“This year they were extra generous and we had enough to provide poinsettias in addition to the gift,” she said. “Roger Boe got the poinsettias and the flowers are just beautiful.”

Guck reported there were 53 residents at the care center. In past years there have been as many as 80.

Guck started selling Mary Kay in 1983. Years ago, the longtime Frazee resident decided to call the care center to see if a gift donation to residents would be allowed, and she was given the thumbs up.

“I’ve been dong it since,” she said. “I talked with a few friends at church and over the years more and more have donated to the project.”

Guck orders the Mary Kay products and wraps each gift along with a card that has the name of those who donated with a Christmas greeting. She wraps the card with tissue paper and slips the presents into an easy to open package.

“They love it and are really happy,” Guck said. “Every year I get one or two thank you cards.”
