In a match up between perennial powers in Section 8A, Frazee fell to Badger-Greenbush-Middle River by a score of 34-30 on Tuesday night. 

The Hornets trailed early in the match as the Gators won the opening four matches of the night to take a 15-0 lead. 

Josh Mellema put the Hornets on the scoreboard with a win by forfeit at 138 lbs., before Bailey Peichel secured a pin over Isaac Olson at the 44 second mark of their 145 lbs. match to make the score 15-12 in favor of BGMR.

The Hornets took the lead when Tyler Moe won by forfeit to make the score 18-15 in favor of Frazee.

Max Rue and Jack Graham followed with back-to-back pins at 160 and 170 lbs. to make the score 30-15 in favor of the Hornets.

Unfortunately, the Gators were able to come away with four straight wins to end the match, including a tough 7-5 decision between Caleb Vacura and Byron Kropuenske at 220 lbs. and a fall at heavyweight to make the score 34-30 in favor of BGMR.

In Frazee’s other match of the triangular, the Hornets fell to Class AAA sixth ranked Bemidji by a score of 65-12. 

The loss dropped the Hornets to 2-8 in duals as they will look to rebound at a triangular in New York Mills on Thursday night against the Eagles and United Clay Becker and on Saturday the Hornets will host the HOL Conference meet beginning at 10 a.m.
