Glenn and Deb McDowell, of Ottertail, visit with staff members and volunteers at Maplewood State Park near Pelican Rapids on Saturday. The McDowell’s visited the state park as part of the Maple Syrup Festival weekend in Vergas. As part of the festivities at the state park, guests were able to learn how to take sap from a tree and turn it into maple syrup.
