The 14th Annual Fire Department Relief Association Auction fundraiser was held with a packed house attending at the Frazee Event Center Saturday, Aug. 23.

The fire department thanked attendees and sponsors in a Facebook post Sunday, “We would like to extend our thanks to all the businesses and individuals that donated items for our fundraiser last night, the Bachman’s for emceeing the live auction, Shawn Ohman for organizing and running the fundraiser, and especially to everybody that showed up to the fundraiser to make it a fun and successful night. Thank you!”

The event was held for the first time in three years due to pandemic-related cancellations forcing the department to utilize other forms of fundraising.

This year’s event provided a much-needed financial boost to the department to replace aging equipment and purchase necessities and gear for firefighters.

Attendees participated in charitable gambling, raffles, a silent auction and other games.

Country Financial Representative Albert Doll, a former firefighter of 24 years, kickstarted this year’s fundraising with a $1,500 at the department’s meeting on March 9.

An exact amount of total donations was unavailable at time of press.
