Moore finishes in ninth place in high jump

Brynn Larson placed seventh and Rylee Moore took ninth at the Class A state track and field meet on Thursday and Friday. 

The state track meet was held at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Larson, an eighth grader, cleared 5’2” at the state meet. The jump tied her for fourth place overall, but she ultimately finished in seventh place.

Moore cleared 5’0” and finished in ninth place in the event as the senior tied three other jumpers with the same height.

In the 110-meter hurdle preliminaries, senior Nathan Johannsen finished just outside of the top 9 to advance to the finals as he finished with a time of 16.46 to finish in 13th place overall. 

The Frazee 4×200-meter relay team took 11th place in the preliminaries on Thursday as they finished with a time of 1:50.10. Team members included Jayden Sonnenberg, Brynn Larson, Rylee Moore and Hailey Selly. 

Only Moore was a senior on the relay team as Sonnenberg and Larson are just eighth graders and Selly is a sophomore. 

The Frazee boys 4×400-meter relay team also competed on Thursday and took 15th place overall with a time of 3:39.17. Team members included Jayden Keeping, Johannsen, Josh Mellama and Skylure Lehman. Only Mellama was the only underclassman on the team as he is just a sophomore.
