FARGO MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT

A Fargo man died from injuries suffered in an all-terrain vehicle crash Friday, July 1.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an all-terrain vehicle crash on Northeast Rock Lake Road in Holmesville Township at approximately 10:16 p.m.
Holmesville Township is located north of Cotton Lake.
Casey Joe Arneson, 27, of Fargo, was pronounced dead at the scene upon arrival of deputies and emergency personnel.
Further investigation indicated Arneson and a passenger were northbound on Rock Lake Road in a utility side-by-side vehicle when the vehicle left the road on a corner, struck a tree, and then rolled.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts, but not wearing helmets. Speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.
The passenger, Joseph Edward Starkey, 29, of Mahnomen, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The Callaway Fire Department, Callaway Police Department, Detroit Lakes Fire Department-Rescue 1, Essentia-St. Mary’s EMS, and Sanford Air Care assisted the Becker County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
