Getting a little looney at annual Vergas Looney Days

Kids took a break from enjoying inflatable games Saturday morning of Looney Days for a little face painting.
Area kids played bean bags at the ball fields during the Looney Days Family Games, sponsored by Perham Area Boys & Girls Club, Saturday, Aug. 13. 
The annual puppy plunge was once again a popular event during Looney Days on Saturday. 
The North Stars Water Ski Show was held on Friday and Saturday night near Loon Park. The ski show featured a mixture of formations, pyramids and tricks.

A record number of cars turned out for the annual car show in downtown Vergas on Sunday. 
One of the parade entrants used a water gun to spray people along the streets on Sunday. 
Jerry and Kathy Johnson were grand marshals of this year’s Looney Days parade.
Children took to the streets to gather candy during the annual  parade on Sunday. 
ergas State Bank had a dance party in costumes to represent some of the more memorable events and activities in Vergas like the Hairyman, maple syrup Vergas Loons and more. 
The Backyard in Perham not only had candy, but some mascots during the parade.
The annual Vergas Fire Department water wars provided a cool and wet way to bring the annual Looney Days celebration to an end on Sunday. The event featured teams of children and adults in different age categories.

The annual wiener dog races were held at the baseball field on Saturday morning. 
The 2022 Looney Days Racing of the Wieners was held at the Vergas baseball field on Saturday morning. The event featured dozens of wiener dogs of all shapes and sizes racing for the top prize.
