Blood screening can provide information for diagnosis, treatment of some diseases

Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary is proud to partner with Essentia Health and Sanford Health to bring back the blood screening project that it has been part of for 30 years.

The screening will take place September 20-23 from 7-9:30 a.m. each day. The event will be held at the Essentia Health St. Mary’s EMS Building located at 225 Park Street in Detroit Lakes. No pre-registration is required.

Blood screening can provide important information for diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. Depending on an individual’s age, blood screenings should be conducted at least once per year. This year’s panel will bring back a wider array of tests, including: cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, Glucose, Creatinine, Hemoglobin, White Blood Count, ALT, and Potassium.

Cost for the blood screening is $40 per person. Cash and checks will be accepted, checks can be made payable to Noon Rotary Club. The cost covers collection of blood samples, professional analysis of samples, results report of analysis and refreshments after sample is drawn.

Before the test, people should restrict food and drink for 10-12 hours. It is okay to drink water. Please contact a primary care provider with any questions about taking prescribed medications. The report will be on the EssentiaMyHealth Epic system. After receiving the results, people can print a copy and bring it to your physician to place in your chart.
