Hornets boys place ninth at large meet, Pausch finishes in 24th place overall

The Frazee boys team placed ninth out of 12 full teams at the large Long Prairie-Grey Eagle invitational on Monday night. The Hornets finished with a team score of 229 points to finish just 21 points behind Paynesville for eighth place. The meet was won by Saint John’s with a score of 54, while Sauk Centre took second with 68 points. 

The boys team was led by Cael Pausch who finished in 24th place with a time of 19:42.77. He was followed closely by teammate Jonah Sharp who took 26th place with a time of 19:44.7. Brady Borah finished in 63rd place with a time of 21:40.17, Alexx Helmers took 77th place with a time of 22:54.4, Tyden Schaefer finished in 84th place with a time of 23:20.55 and Daniel Winn finished in 91st place with a time of 28.28.72.

The Hornets team was made up of four juniors and second freshmen, with no seniors competing for the boys team on Monday.

On the girls side, Bailey Larsen paced the Hornets as the senior finished in 29th place with a time of 24.59.29. Senior Amanda Danielson finished in 38th place with a time of 25:52.4, freshman Lola Hoehne finished in 46th place with a time of 27:20.31 and freshman Caleigh Pausch finished in 49th place with a time of 27:57.82.

Other results fro the meet include Madi Perrine finishing in second place in the 2,500 meter middle school race with a time of 11:06.97, with Bristol Larsen finished in eighth place with a time of 19:09.35.

Jillian Hanley took 30th place in the junior varsity race with a time of 23:12.22. 

Hunter Piekarski finished in 16th place in the boys middle school race with a time of 10:47.56, while Tristan Maijala finished in 58th place with a time of 14:50.74.
