Notes from the Chief

Friday, Sept. 23

9:01 a.m. Report of inappropriate pictures taken by some high school students. Under investigation.

4:08 p.m. Report of teenager who didn’t ride the bus home. Officer found the girl with her boyfriend. Female was brought home and officer talked with stepmom about some options for the household.

6:51 p.m. Report of a loose dog that was causing issues on E Maple. Officer found dog owner who admitted the dog was out. Warning for leash law violation.

7:55 p.m. Report of a male in a business in areas he was not supposed to be. Male was gone when officer arrived.

7:56 p.m. Door alarm at the high school. All secure.

12:15 a.m.  Assist with a motorist changing a flat tire.

Saturday, Sept. 24

8:03 p.m. Report of some cattle near the road on Co Hwy 29. Cattle went back in the field when officer found them. Owner was notified.

Sunday, Sept. 25

6:28 p.m. Alarm at high school. All secure.

Monday, Sept. 26

2:56 p.m. Assist deputy in DL with a disorderly juvenile.

3:50 p.m. Stray dog found. Officer kept dog for a few hours before taking dog to Lucky Dog in Detroit Lakes.

6:31 p.m. Disturbance reported on Rivercrest Drive. More Days of Our Lives drama between neighbors.

7:46 p.m. Report of stray kittens at the compost site. Officer talked with reporting parties about calling shelters in the area.

9:33 p.m. Dispute between family members about property from an apartment.  

3:10 a.m. Wallet found at the gas station. Wallet is at the PD to be claimed.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

9:23 a.m. Report of the theft of tools from a construction truck on N River Drive.

11:34 a.m. Set of keys turned in, found near Elm Ave and 4th St NW.

1:20 p.m. Request to be around the high school as an irate parent may be showing up.  He was a no show.

1:24 p.m. Vaping device confiscated by school staff turned over to officer.

2:41 p.m. Driving complaint on US 10 and turned into Frazee. Unable to locate.

3:35 p.m. Report of a juvenile was at the school who was trespassed from the property.  

3:37 p.m. Assist with a medical.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

8:13 p.m. Officer witnessed kids crossing in front of a vehicle by the school and said vehicle drove across the oncoming lane yelling and swearing at the kids. Officer told the driver to clear the scene and he would talk to the jaywalkers.

6:41 p.m. Resident from W Main Ave brought a loose dog to the PD as it was in his yard.  Officer was trying to get the mutt into a kennel and the pooch slipped her collar. Dog at large again.

7:14 p.m. Parking complaint on S Lake St. with a pickup parked on the no parking side and pickup was well into the driving lane. Officer asked that the vehicle be moved and was met with some ever so pleasant language. Officer pulled in behind the pickup and waited for someone to move the vehicle which happened shortly thereafter.

11 p.m. Report of threats being made and extra patrol requested past the house.

Thursday, Sept. 29

9:13 p.m. Andrew Donovan, 40, Detroit Lakes arrested on Otter Tail and Wright County warrants.

6:26 p.m. Dog at large complaint on W Main Ave. Dog owner was located and given a warning to keep the canine in the yard and on a leash.
