HOL Conference meet to be held in Hawley this week

The Frazee Hornets competed in one of the biggest cross country meets of the season on Thursday as they traveled to Perham for the Harrier Classic. Held at Arvig Park, the meet featured runners from nearly 30 teams, including Mountain Iron-Buhl, Lakeville South and everywhere in-between. 

On the boys side, freshman Jonah Sharp was the first Hornet to cross the finish line as he took 82nd place with a time of 18:43.6. 

Sharp was followed closely by Cael Pausch who took 92nd place with a time of 18:39.4, Brady Borah finished in 100th place with a time of 19:13.3, Alexx Helmers took 131st place with a time of 20:37.6, Tyden Schaefer took 140th place with a time of 21:13.8, Hunter Lyman took 157th place with a time of 22:45.9 and Daniel Winn finished in 162 place with a time of 25:37. 

Frazee’s top female finisher was senior Bailey Larsen who took 101st place with a time of 22:48.9, while ninth graders Caliegh Pausch and Lola Hoehne took 121st and 125th place with times of 23:50.5 and 24:03.1. 

Also competing for the Hornets was senior Amanda Danielson who finished in 133th place with a time of 24:34.7 and freshman Jillian Hanley who finished with 158th place with a time of 29:47.7.

In the junior high race, seventh grader Madi Perrine took sixth place with a time of 13:37.6 on the 3200-meter course, while Hunter Piekarski took 18th place in the junior high race for the boys team with a time of 12:32.2.

This week the Hornets will travel to Hawley for the Heart O’ Lakes Conference cross country meet in Hawley. The meet will begin at 2:30 p.m.
