The Frazee Hornets football team fell to 3-3 on Friday night with a 44-13 loss to Thief River Falls.

Head coach Russ Hackel said the Hornets made some mistakes, but played well against an improving Class AAA school in Thief River Falls.

“We gave them a short field at times. Besides a few big plays it was a different game,” he said.

Individual stats from the game were not available at the time of press, but Hackel said the team will look to get its fourth win of the season on Friday night when the Hornets travel to Henning to take on the 5-1 Otter Tail Central Bulldogs.

OTC defeated Staples-Motley by a score of 49-6 on Friday and also has wins over Breckenridge by a score of 28-27, Pillager by a score of 43-7, Underwood by a score of 50-6 and Roseau by a score of 27-6. Their lone loss of the season was at the hands of Pelican Rapids.

Hackel said the Bulldogs run a Wing T offense and feature a quarterback who can throw the ball when needed.

“They run that Wing T type of offense. They have been doing it a long time and they are good at it,” he said.

The game will get underway at 7 p.m. in Henning.
