All summer, United Community Bank hosted Hornet Pride Picnics. The purpose of these picnics is to raise money for Frazee Fine Arts and Athletic programs at Frazee-Vergas Public School. The picnics this year were a resounding success.

The community and surrounding areas showed up in droves to support Frazee-Vergas Public School. This year United Community Bank doubled its donation due to the incredible support our community showed.

The donation, with the United Community Bank match, will be $10,000 and it will go directly towards Frazee Fine Arts and Athletics Programs.

“Frazee is a town where neighbors care for each other. Our neighbors supported us every Wednesday this summer and without them and their support we wouldn’t be making this donation to Frazee-Vergas Public School. All I can say is, ‘It’s a great day to be a Hornet!’ ” Frazee Branch Manager Ashley Renollet.

United Community Bank would like to personally thank the communities of Frazee, Vergas, and the surrounding areas for supporting the Hornet Pride Picnics all summer. United Community Bank is inviting the public to join them on October 11 at Frazee-Vergas High School when Frazee Volleyball plays Detroit Lakes and UCB will be presenting the $10,000 donation to Frazee-Vergas Public School.

United Community Bank said several local groups and businesses helped to make the picnics possible in Frazee are: Ketter’s Meat Market, Frazee Family Foods, OK Lumber, All in All Convenience Store and numerous Frazee Fine Arts and Athletics groups who cooked every week

The Hornet Pride Picnics started in 2007 as a way to bring the community together all summer long.

Thus far to date, United Community Bank has raised and donated over $80,000 to Frazee-Vergas schools because of the Hornet Pride Picnics. The meals run every Wednesday during the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
