Starting Monday, Oct. 31, weather permitting, motorists will encounter alternating lane closures on Highway 10 at the Highway 87 interchange near Frazee. The lane closures will remain in place for approximately one week, including overnight, while crews replace guardrail on and near the Highway 87 overpass.

The work is part of the Highway 87 reconstruction project in Frazee, which includes resurfacing and reconstructing Highway 87, replacing city utilities, and improving pedestrian and bicycle access and accommodations.

Last week, crews were finishing up the concrete work in Phase 2 (Juniper Avenue to Birch Avenue). New sidewalks, curb and gutter are going in along the eastbound lane.

Weather permitting, paving is scheduled to take place in Phase 2 October 25-26.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
