Underclassmen lead the charge for Frazee

The Frazee cross country team featured a youthful line up with just two seniors and nine underclassmen at the Section 8A meet on Friday. In fact, more than half of the runners competing for the Hornets were in ninth grade or below.

Seventh grader Madi Perrine led the charge for the Hornets as she took 41st place with a time of 22:37.20. Eighth grader Bristol Larsen finished close behind her teammate as she took 67th place with a time of 24:27.40. 

Senior Bailey Larsen took 71st place with a time of 24:42.20, freshman Lola Hoehne took 77th place with a time of 24:58.30, freshman Caleigh Pausch took 85th place with a time of 25:45 and senior Amanda Danielson took 92nd place with a time of 26:51.30. A total of 102 runners completed the race. 

On the boys side, freshman Jonah Sharp led the charge as he finished in 43rd place with a time of 19:06.20. Junior Brady Borah took 50th place with a time of 19:21.50, junior Cael Pausch took 60th place with a time of 19:57.20, freshman Tyden Schaefer took 89th place with a time of 21:33.10 and Daniel Winn took 106th place with a time of 24:45.50. A total of 116 boys finished the race on Friday.  

Perham won the boys meet with 42 points, while Park Rapids Area took second place with 48 points. The Hornets finished in 12th place with 322 points. 

Perham also won the girls meet with 26 points, while Hawley finished in second place with 89 points. The Hornets took 10th place overall with 279 points.
