There is a unique physical education class being offered at Frazee High School that integrates special education students with those in general studies. The class began shortly after Thanksgiving and is scheduled to continue for the remainder of the year. Each Thursday, special education students in grades 7-12 join the freshman gym class to work on athletic skills. The students in the freshman class were immediately welcoming to the special education classmates, which has led to some special bonds that have been made.
The future of the Frazee liquor store will be discussed at a special city council meeting this week after just one person showed up at a special hearing in December. The liquor store has lost money in each of the past three years, including in 2016 when it lost over $40,000. It was also estimated to end the year in the red in 2017 as well. According to records, the liquor store made at least $11,500 from 2007-13.

Frazee firemen got a special training session over the holidays that could save lives in the event of a plunge in cold water. The Frazee Fire Department stepped up its cold water rescue training after the 1987 rescue of a 10-year-old in the Red River in Fargo. The training exercise was held near the Black Bridge in Frazee.
The Vergas City Council would like to see more gaming revenues stay in Vergas. This was the consensus of the Vergas City Council when it decided not to sign the gambling permit renewal for the Detroit Lakes American Legion. It was reported at the meeting that only $1,000 was given back to the community through charitable gambling.

The village council of Frazee voted to give Frazee senior citizens who are the head of household a reduction in their quarterly garbage collection fee. Persons wanting to know if they qualify for this reduction should inquire at the clerkâs office when paying their next village utility bill.
The Frazee Hornets placed third at the Pequot Lakes Holiday Basketball Tournament. Frazee lost their opening round game to Walker by a score of 50-38, before defeating Nevis by a score of 54-49 to win the consolation title.
There will be an open house for Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jepson in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary at their home on Sunday. All friends and family members are invited to attend.

As a member of the group, Star Drug will be featuring a monthly four day sale (starting the first Wednesday of each month) on 18 health and beauty aid items. The ad will be appearing in the Frazee Forum for your reference, the first of which will be found in this issue. There are over 1,000 association of druggists pharmacists in the United States as a group to bring their customers special savings plus friendly service.
