Long-term care specialist to join local staff

The Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes Clinic is pleased to welcome mobile medicine/long-term care specialist Molly Olson, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner.

“I have always been impressed with Essentia’s level of high-quality patient care and its belief that the patient always comes first,” said Olson, who grew up in nearby Park Rapids. “I have always had positive interactions with Essentia team members, and my beliefs correspond with Essentia’s mission and values. I am dedicated to making a healthy difference in patient’s lives.”

Olson received her medical education from Walden University in Minneapolis and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys serving the geriatric population, something she learned while working as a certified nursing assistant in a long-term care facility.

“I have discovered a passion for individuals with Alzheimer’s,” said Olson. “I also have an interest in end-of-life care, as well as diabetes management, hypertension and mental health. I want you to be a part of your health care decisions. I am here to help you make those decisions by offering guidance and answering questions along the way.”
