The Frazee Fly Girls are Section 4A Champions in both jazz and high kick and are heading to the state tournament.
Danita and Jaden Ketter served up pulled pork and turkey sandwiches along with other Ketter’s Meats items at the Frazee Area Community Club’s Flannel and Lace event Saturday night.
Frazee’s municipal liquor store may be turning a corner. Frazee Councilman Mark Flemmer said a month ago he didn’t believe the on-sale operation was going to make it. After being appointed to the liquor store committee, he worked diligently to determine if his hunch was correct. “I feel like we are on the right track now and I’m feeling positive about it, more than I was a month ago.”

The teachers and the Frazee-Vergas School District have reached a verbal “tentative” salary and benefits settlement, which may eliminate the need for a mediation session. Frazee Education Association and school board negotiations committees met Friday evening and ironed out the tentative agreement.
To be a builder is to create something of permanence, such as a structure, a business or a family. With that definition in mind, the Minnesota Red River Valley Development Association (MRRVDA) has chosen the Daggett family of Frazee as the recipient of its “Builders of the Valley” award for 1998. Members of the Daggett family will be honored at the organization’s 60th annual honor banquet in Crookston Saturday, Feb. 28.
Preliminary calculations from Farmers Home Administration indicate Vergas could get an additional $70,500 grant for the wastewater treatment project. So noted the city clerk at the Vergas Council meeting Monday night. The council had received a letter from Engineer Dave Grinaker, Detroit Lakes, indicating the preliminary findings.

The Village Council established a reduced rate for garbage pickup for senior citizens at the regular meeting Monday night. For the year 1973, qualified senior citizens will receive a $2 reduction on garbage bills effective with the April quarterly billing.
The village council announced today that they warming house at the ice skating rink will be closed for the remainder of the winter. The reason given for closing the warming house is that the stove has been damaged three times already this winter, and this creates a safety hazard for children using it.
Airman David H. Rethwisch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Rethwisch of Rt. 1, Frazee, Minn., has been assigned to Chanute AFB, Ill., after competing Air Force basic training. During his six weeks at the Air Training Command’s Lackland AFB, Tex., he studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special instruction in human relations.
