The Frazee Hornets fell to 4-13 overall as they dropped a pair of tough Heart O’ Lakes Conference games, as well as a game against Legacy Christian at Sauk Centre High School on Saturday.

The Hornets will look to get back into the swing of things this week with just one game on their schedule, a road game against Hawley on Thursday.

Frazee fell to a high powered Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton offense on Tuesday night and fell by a score of 84-59. The Hornets trailed 45-24 at halftime, but played right with the Rebels in the second half as they were able to hang onto the ball and knock down eight 3-pointers in the game.

The biggest difference in the contest came at the free throw line as DGF went 25-34 from the free throw line, compared to just 9-16 for the Hornets.

Perham may have shot over 59 percent from the field, but the Frazee defense continues to play well as they limited Perham to just a 27-9 halftime lead. The Hornets played right with the Yellowjackets in the second half as they fell by a score of 63-33. Despite the final outcome, head coach Ryan Vigen said Frazee did a solid job on the defensive end of the court by limiting Perham to just 63 points this time around, after losing to the Yellowjackets by a score of 81-22 the first time around.

“The score may not have shown it, but I thought we played a good ball game today.  We had a nice defensive effort,” said head coach Ryan Vigen.

Perham was able to come away with the win, in large part, due to their post players down low. The Yellowjackets were able to outscore the Hornets by a 42-14 margin in the paint.

Adam Vigen had a solid night from the field as he finished with 10 points, while Carter Sonnenberg finished with 8 points in the loss.

Frazee was once again able to stay in the game due to a solid defensive performance as they forced 28 turnovers, but LCA made 22 free throws and held a 32-20 advantage in the paint.

Carter Sonnenberg led the way offensively with 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Alex Helmers scored 12 points in the loss.
