The merchandise will be like-new, but soon Gary’s Furniture on East Main in Frazee will be having a heck of a “fire” sale. While the flames didn’t lap at the furniture, there was some smoke damage during a fire last Friday morning at the store. Firemen were called to the scene at 8:42 a.m. The fire started in the walls of a new addition in the back of the store, which was quickly extinguished. Firemen credit Gary’s employee Tom Golkowski with preventing more serious structural damage by putting out a portion of the blaze with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.

Becker County voters will go to the polls March 13 to vote on a referendum deciding whether or note to replace the Sunnyside Rest Home at Lake Park. This election date was set as it is the date of county township annual elections, so special elections will be needed only in cities and villages.
